First Bloom From Riona Order

First bloom out of the initial six and like the color better than from web page though first bloom is messed up? subsequent is better. The flower color is off on two pictures and I don't know why as the white is yellowed, I usually get that with overcast skies maybe I took the last picture to early this morning?

Quite a nice distinct red stripe down the center of petals is really nice.

Very nice bloom, Al. I've noticed, too, that the first blooms are often slightly distorted and malformed. Both in first blooms of the season and first blooms for a particular plant. Subsequent blooms seem to have better form. Unfortunately, for me, so late in the season and with buds dropping while in the developing process, subsequent blooms may not happen until next year.

Day 3 bloom, it keeps getting better and better! Now I wonder with the temps dropping if I will see both orders bloom before they go dormant.

Al, very nice. I found w most of my new Grafted plants that on their second blooming. The blooms where much crisper and closest to what I was hoping for.

Thanks Rick, I have had that experience with grafted from Thailand and half those in the trash due to virus symptoms.

6th and 7th first blooms yesterday one from the a 2nd Riona order in addition to hybrid baby arabicum.

Purple Ring 2n order and I don't think it will open anymore due to night temps dipping into the upper 50's even though we are hitting record highs in the 90's.

Star Fish

Before the end of the week I will have to bring all in for the winter.

Amber Fantasy is especially nice! Beautiful. I have Magic Elf and it's been blooming very nicely for me. I'm quite pleased with it. So far I'm very happy with ALL of the plants I've gotten from Rinoa. Keep us posted and they are looking good! Maybe we should start a thread and ask everyone to pose their flowers from Rinoa grafted plants and seedlings. I'd love to see them. My Rinoa and KO seedlings haven't gotten large enough to bloom yet so maybe next year.

Hyn- Amber Fantasy is very nice and blooms prolifically as Magic Elf does the same. I'm surprised at how much growth some of my plants from Riona have put out as I have noticed that my Ebay grafted plants from Thailand have been extremely slow for the majority of them.

8th first bloom

Beauty Witch a replacement from original rotted one. I did manage to salvage the first one and the last re-potting I couldn't tell that it had put out any new roots but the caudex plumped up.

9.21.2017 I placed Beauty Witch on a rock and hope the roots will grow over the rock.

Al, interesting that you mention that your Rinoa grafted plants have been growing a lot better and faster than your other Ebay purchased grafts. Because I have noticed the same thing with mine. I only got a couple off of Ebay sellers but neither one of them have grown well at all this year. While all of my Rinoa plants have grown very nicely. Most of my seed grown plants have flourished and grown pretty well too.
