There are few RT that over-Winter around my yard every year.

Labor Day is about when I start looking/listening for them to return. I saw the first one 2 days ago (Sept 7) when Irma was predicted to pass over/near me in coastal Central Florida on Sunday night/Monday morning, going much farther to the West now (hope everybody in the path stays safe).

Last year they were already here when Matthew passed by off the coast (probably got minimal Hurricane strength winds from that). As soon as winds calmed down they were out again. Once I got the feeders back up they came to feed, most of their nectar plants were shredded with no flowers and took a few weeks to get flowers again.

I imagine the animals can sense the weather changes. I know in my yard the birds, butterflies, and honey bees have been especially busy at the bird feeders and the flowers the last few days. Probably stocking up before the storm.

I name my hummies LOL and the 2 RT's (Toquito the male) that dominated my feeder for the past 4 months has moved on. My female RT (Margarita) is still here. It's awesome they have places to feed to get past all this and thanks to you! I sure wanna see Toquito and Margarita again next year!
