The One That Started it All

Hi forum members. Below is my original post and introduction to the forum.

http://forums.gardenweb.com/discussions/4101655/new-to-the-world-of-adeniums

The very first Adenium Obesum I purchased, Aphrodite, is getting its first bloom. When I purchased this seedling, I made my selection based on the photograph. Silly me. I had no idea at that time that seedlings seldom flower true to their parentage.

I think I recall the seller telling me that it was about a year old at the time of my purchase. I originally planted it in a bonsai pot in August 2016 when I first got it but changed my mind and put it in this 4" pot this past Spring like around March 2017. I'm sure I stunted its growth and slowed its progress.

It was also that seller who steered me in the direction of GW and this forum.

Anyway, here's what it looks like now. I think it will open later today or tomorrow. So far it's not appearing as though it's going to look anything like the photo that caught my attention.

These first 3 photos are my plant.

This is fourth picture is Adenium Obesum Triple Aphrodite as advertised.

Yeah...we'll see, but highly doubt mine will end up looking anything like this one! I'll just have to appreciate it for what it is and remember that for me, this is the one that started it all.
