Nope. One plant produces one beet. If you cut off the current beet - the root of the plant - all you will be planting is leaves......they will not grow on their own.

btw, a beet is not a bulb :-)) This would have been more appropriate in the Vegetables forum but the answer won't change.

Just repost there :-) And yes, beets are either grown directly from seed or sometimes purchased as very small started plants from a nursery.
