Fast growing trees. I ordered a key lime tree for a relative in another state and it was a pretty decent tree. Another place you can check is citrus tree source, not sure they sell to the public, also check Brite Leaf.

Nancy, I got my Minneola tangelo at Orchard Supply Hardware in Beaverton. I found a tag in the soil that said it was on C-35 which if i'm not mistaken is semi-dwarf and my hope is that will be fine for container culture. All there citrus trees are $29.99-$39.99 and are really good size, bigger than premiums I've gotten from FW. I am not sure if they still have any but it might be worth a call if you plan on being up in the Portland area anytime soon. I was blown away at how many varieties they carried but since the are a California import it doesn't surprise me too much. I hope they bring more back next year too.

Sorry that I didn't get up there with my plumeria this summer. I have a BIG plumeria for you if you can accommodate, Blush Pink. Right now it's width is almost 5 feet and the height is over 4 feet. It's blossoming small pale pink flowers now. (First year from cuttings flowers are small.) It would need to be cut back to nubbins to transport. I'll also have some smaller ones in the spring...a compact one, Dwarf Singapore Pink and a medium size Intense Rainbow. The latter are still cuttings but should be a nice size by April. You are welcome to any.

Just called Orchard and that's it for the season :-( That's a fantastic price you got!

I lived in So Cal for many years and also did a lot of trimming to keep things dwarf. I'm already dwarfing the dwarfs so don't know how much more I want to do! All mine are in a confined 15x15 greenhouse in my basement with a ton of other plants. Going to think about that idea tho. Thanks much.

That's too bad they are out now, but maybe for next year they will have some other varieties you'll want, and yes you can't beat that price it's so much nicer than base + shipping costs from other places. Don't worry about it all all Nancy, I am just happy you are willing to gift me anything and I am in no hurry whatsoever. I have plenty of room now as I am converting half my garage and a spare bedroom into winter areas for everything, my boyfriend thinks I'm slightly crazy but hasn't stopped me yet...The Blush Pink and Intense Rainbow are both beautiful, I am a sucker for yellow centers or any yellow at all but I am happy for whatever variety you have to spare, so whichever is best for you. I am attempting to root some cuttings now and I have a Minneola from June that is still hanging in there, it looks the same as the day I cut it so it's not moving very fast but I am happy its not dead. I took over a dozen Moro cuttings a few weeks ago and almost all are dead/dying so it doesnt appear as easy to root as the Minneola. If the Minneola cutting makes it I would be happy to gift it to you if you'd like it, I know it not on dwarf stock but you may be able to keep it a manageable size on its own. The whole reason I am attempting to root cuttings is for gifts/trade, I love the community spirit of this forum and want to pass that along in any way I can.

I stopped at Home Depot on my lunch today (Beaverton 217/Farmington location) and they had 6 citrus trees for $39.99. Two Minneolas, an Oro Blanco, a Bearss, and Two Okitsu Satsuma's. They all say they are on Carrizo Rootstock and are pretty good sized trees, one of the Minneloas was so tall that it kept tipping over in its pot. I know your looking at dwarf to semi dwarf instead of full sized but its an option if you want one sooner rather than later.
