You can have interesting experiences while picking pole beans. I grow runner beans each year, which are visited frequently by hummingbirds. Several times while picking, a hummer hovered in front of by face, chirping at me. It was really cute... but chances are it was trying valiantly to chase me out of its territory.

Sometimes, when I'm watering the garden or the back yard, a hummingbird comes and wants a bath. I usually have to switch to a softer flow, but they really love it! I used to have a bright pink shirt. I was sitting on the deck one day and a hummer came and hovered right in front of me....just a few inches. I think it thought I was a big flower. :)
