I don'/t believe that these temp swings affect the trees at all. Just us.

It is in the 80s here....enjoying it while it lasts!

92F for me. 4 more days like that then high 80's.

High 80s until next Saturday....then finally some relief. A hot and dry September is good for my citrus trees, but its making it tough on trying to get this grass seed started.

Nice Susanne, we cooled down to the low 90’s this week. It’s been going down into the low 70’s at night. Best time of year here in the Desert.

Susanne, did not get a follow-up on sending you F/D rootstock. If you still want them i can save them till Spring for you. I really like to drive to your place and dump a bunch of citrus tree's during the night while you are dancing during these final hot days. Look at my avatar and see if it is possible.

It’s been in the 70’s here and cloudy all week. It’s not feeling like our normal September 100+ days east of San Diego. I am not complaining though as it feels nice.

Going to be 96 degrees over the weekend, the long range forecast looks optimal, we can keep the trees outside longer. I love it!

59 here..Has been in the low 60's for days..Jeez, the benefits of living along the cold ocean! Maybe 80 Sunday, but I don't believe that. By the time the next cold front moves through for good, I might see warm...lol

Mikey buddy that stinks we've had 2 and a half weeks now of not a cloud in the sky with temperatures in the low to mid to high 80's with lot's of humidity 90's on the weekend till mid next week . Sure hope that you see a bit of this . Hugs buddy

Upper 80's to 90 in Metro NJ/NYC with humidity for the weekend and into early next week (minimums still above 70F at night). Forecast is for Maria to move out to sea but wouldn't mind see some rain. Feels like it is drying out again after a wet summer season. Deciduous trees really seem to have been turning for weeks now despite the warmth..., weird. Everything is still out including hyper tropicals (coconuts, bananas, etc.). First day of a new season though. Happy Autumn!

Mike I really feel sorry for you. How the heck do you get your citrus to grow in that climate?

89 degrees and high 80,s for next week. With the humidex it is equilavent to 103. Just came from doing errands and art class. Even my face is sweating. So glad for central air conditioning. Maggy

Maggy!! Finally a HOT day here! 86 today. That stupid storm Jose finally decided to push off shore to allow the skies to clear up and give me something other than stiff easterly winds off the ocean with grey cloudy on end days..I am doing a dance here! Would you believe it is also the hottest day I have had since the beginning of July??!!! It had not reached anything near 85 the whole month of August, the supposed hottest month of the year here....I will take it. I might even go to the beach for a few hours now that it's free to park there)

Brian, thanks buddy. Hugs right back at yah! It's great to see our Canadian friends grabbing some last summery days so late in the season. It's hard to believe fall is already here. Boy does time pass on when you are in tune with nature and grow plants that require full warm sunshine!

Suanne, I ask myself that question all the time. They don't grow for a long period of time that is for sure. I guess I am lucky in one sense since if they stay small, I will always have room for them. I am thinking now that I am going to do Laura's method of putting lights on them, they might actually like that! I hate to think of bringing them in though. They will stay outside until temps fall into the 30' s by night!

Mike, You need to move to Canada. Did you know Point Peele less than an hour from my house is the most southern point in Canada .the same latitude as Northern California .I hope you hear from your family soon and that they are safe. Hugs Maggy

Summer is back indeed ... can't wait for a fall/spring period. Summer is great but we have almost 8 months of it each year.

Monday and Tuesday going to be 38 degrees Celsius with humidex (100F), we are having heat warnings since yesterday. The plants love it!

Maggy there is pelee island south of point pelee. South of pelee island is the true most southern part of canada, middle island.

Btw Maggy, i was at home depot yesterday. They are starting to reduce prices on the one gallon tree pot size citrus. Probably nothing there you dont already have though. Bears limes, meyers, un specified kumquats, and maybe 2 unspecified mandarins.

If I would have a say in this weather, I would love to have it another couple of weeks. So much new growth and my ST Feminello has tiny buds. Just hope they will not fall off because it is getting so cold all the sudden in three days.

Susanne, I was thinking the very same thing! My weather will go into the 60's by Ffiday, so I better enjoy it while it's here. Would you believe many are complaining it's too hot..lol Not my trees though!

Oh my trees love it. I just wish it wouldn't be so dry. Here I thought we will have wonderful fall colors but because it is so dry, all the leaves are getting brown and die. Kinda sad

mikerno_1micha, it all depends :) We have 8 months of cloudless hot summer, and no rain for at least 6 months in Northern California. So, I can't wait for nice cool rainy days with some humidity. :)

Charles. Thanks for the heads up re Home Depot. I think I have my quota for this year. Unfortunately I have run out of space. You are absolutely right about South of Peelee Island being the most southern part of Canada. Sunshine, we have a heat alert here as well. I am staying inside as much as possible. I have asthma so better to be careful. But the trees are loving it.

Hot in Ottawa Canada today also currently 92 yesterday it hit 90 and that was the hottest fall day here ever recorded. Susanne my tree's are in a growth frenzy right now to the cool shouldn't hurt them . Lol Mikey wait till those same people start complaining about the snow .

Brian that is good to hear. I'm thinking about putting heat mats under a couple of them when moving in the house just to keep them going.

Brian, it is 86 here right now. Trees are certainly showing new growth. Going to be in the 60's on Friday. I am hoping the fall foliage will be in full colour when we go to Nova Scotia in early Oct.. now I just have to find someone look after my trees when I am away.

Maggy isn't this weather lovely ? Maggy its really going to cool down on Friday 54 is our high but then it's going to warm up again next week. Oh Maggy I sure hope that you find someone to take care of your tree's. The foliage will probably be very nice, the turning of the leaves has really slowed down with all this sun we've had lately .

Brian, I was out early this morning and it was beautiful. Friday will be a cool 66. I am concerned about my trees while I am away. When I visited you in Ottawa in Aug. the person who was supposed to water my trees did not and some of them have not fully recovered. I read that the foliage colour will be late this year. Maggy

Maggy and Brian, the leaves here are turning BROWN and disease...Not color thus far. By now the maples would be getting a bright reddish color but they are all burnt up. I think because of the drought we are in too. 90 here today too..It was 76 last night at 11:00 pm. I had the fan all night on me and was still warm from humidity but I love it and so do my trees and especially my Hoya and Orchids! Love the smell of fallen leaves the swampy area and the woods on these nice mild nights. :Like an earthy smell! Hugs to you both!

But, the one thing we can change is how stinking early it gets dark now and how late it gets lights. I swear just a week ago the sun was out at this time and now it's already dark. I think it's going to be dark by 5 by the end of October!

Mikhail, I can't blame you for wanting cooler weather there. You can have mine since I only get a good two months of day in the 80's if lucky..Ha

I had a hoya in my early years when I was still in germany. Had it pinned across the living room on the ceiling. The smell was so awesome. Just the honey driblet where not ;) One day I really would love to have another one.
