I know many people do what you think of doing-buy two smaller square ones..the difference-they don't push them together just leave very close one to another. looks pretty fab. you can put a smaller tray on one of them

The lower right is the aspiration table which is $1300. After looking around on the internet a bit, I think a cheap hack of it is out because they aren't any inexpensive smaller versions.

She has the light tan ektorp sofa and this rug. The pillows on her sofa are pink velvet and blue and gray kilim.

I think she would also be happy with a more feminine print (but still modern) ottoman or even a plain pink velvet. She has absolutely no craft gene and I am too far away so it has to be something we can purchase.

Get a craigslist cheap cocktail table, cut down (electric knife) an inexpensive crib mattress (Kmart or Big Lots wherever) to fit. Then cover that with a fabric she loves.

I just got a reasonably priced ottoman from Wayfair....check there. It's a Safavieh brand. Works in our tv space off the kitchen. Size is approx. 48L 26D & 16H.

Thank everyone! I mentioned above that she is not crafty. At all. She's a software developer and her brain just does not work that way. We are visiting for Thanksgiving and I could possibly work on one for her then.

Bed Bath and Beyond has a great one. My own DD bought it and loves it. I think it was about $200.
