September Blooms Here

The scapes just keep on coming this year. I noticed new rebloom scapes today on Skin of My Teeth and Barbara Mandrell, which has never rebloomed before. I also have a scape on Keep On Loving, which has not bloomed in the 2.5 years I've had it.

Here are some blooms from this week.

Victorian Garden Heaven's Applause started blooming on one it's three scapes yesterday. This one was new last fall and had two scapes very early this spring that died. (I suspect feline involvement.) So two of these are rebloom scapes and one is the first scape of the season. The two rebloom scapes are nicely budded, one with 21 buds and the other with 18. The third scape is still forming.

Indian Ripple is blooming on a later emerging scape.

Memphis is having a nice rebloom with two tall scapes bearing bud counts in the mid-teens. All that hurricane rain is resulting in better bud counts than the original scapes.

Final Touch is blooming again on a later emeging scape. This one caught me by surprise this morning. I didn't realize it had scaped.

Pink Lemonade Party will finish reblooming this weekend.

Old Time Italian trying to double. This one has another rebloom scape coming.

Star Bright is also reblooming now, but so far I haven't gotten a good photo of it.

My red and orange mums that overwintered are finally filling out with blooms.

I really like the pattern on that first one, & sounds like it might be a really good plant. I need to charge my camera, I don't have much blooming. My mums are just now starting to open, shows just the difference 60 miles or so makes.

Such nice rebloom for you! My Final Touch had its last bloom this week, another poly.

Indian Ripple is among my core daylilies. It's just got so many merits including the time it blooms later in the season. I like Old Time Italian. Is it new?...Pink Lemonade Party is such a pretty color. Mine got hit over last winter and the one remaining fan is just barely hanging on.......My yellow mum that overwintered in a pot is in full bloom now too. Rather at odds though when Thursday our heat index hit 101. I'm so sick of this heat and humidity ...........Maryl

They all look very pretty. It is astonishing when a plant that has never rebloomed before learns how to do it, isn't it?

Kay - I think B. Mandrell just needs a lot more water to rebloom than others.

Maryl - Old Time Italian was planted last fall and bloomed for the first time this year. I'm so sorry you lost most of your Pink Lemonade Party. I wonder how OTI and PLP will do in really bad winter.

Hoosier Nan - I very much like the pattern on Vic. Garden Heaven's Applause. It's had good increase since acquiring it last fall.

Lovely group of blooms. Nice to have so many still blooming. Pink Lemonade Party is a pretty shade of pink. Indian Ripple catches my attention also. Your mums look great as well.

Thanks Lori! Pink Lemonade Party is a deeper shade of pink that my other reblooming pinks that look quite pale now.

Good for you to have rebloom! I wonder what that would be like....lol. We are almost done here, just a small handful of the Olallie lates left. My favorites of these are Indian Ripple and Pink Lemonade Party.

Debra, my Final Touch did a bit of bud building. I had two extra blooms on two scapes, not as good as last season.
