IMO you have enough going on with that wall so I would leave the fireplace as isexcept I would add a mantel the same color as the other wood on that wall As for hiding electronics get a low cabinet for under the T.V. and as close to the wall color as possible . It might be worth it to have that cabinet built to fit perfectly.I think it is nice in the space to have all the cabinets match. Tell the dogs they have the best seats in the house for T.V.
