Mitsch Daffodils

Hello,
I am looking for a source for buying Mitsch Daffodils. They are no longer in business and it has been difficult to find them. Does anyone have any they have available for sale or know of a good source for buying them?
Thanks,
Dianne

Thank you for the reply. I am looking for Pacific Rim, Hawaiian Skies, Spanish Fiesta, Spring Bouquet, Trigonometry, Young Love & Tyson's Corner. Do you know of a specific source? I checked Scheepers.

Those are nice ones, but I wonder how they will color up in your climate.

I bet you've already checked the american daffodil society (ADS) list of smaller growers >click here< , and if you're interested in Mitch's, Cherry Creek is probably your best bet for a replacement, even if they don't have the ones you want... but an even surer bet is to join the ADS and get to a local meeting. They'e always having swaps and sales and practically giving bulbs away and I bet you might even find varieties better suited to your area in addition to any Mitsch (or Havens) hybrids people in your region are growing.

Thank you for the reply. I have actually had some of these before and they do good here for the most part but I lost some of them during my move so I would like to replace some if not all of them. I will check into Cherry Creek and some of the smaller growers. Keeping my fingers crossed.

I'm only finding Cherry Creek 2014 online. Anybody have a link to current site?

I grow all of those with the exception of Spring Bouquet. Some, if not all, will probably be dug in 2018.

If interested, instant message me via Houzz and give me your email address, and we can discuss the particulars, including an email reminder some time in May.

I belong to The Indiana Daffodil Society, and our club sales (August and September) usually have many cultivars that are not easily found anywhere else.

Oh...I don't think that Cherry Creek has sold anything for a few years.

Thank you Sue. Yes, I am very interested. I tried to message you with my info but I am not seeing an option to message you from your page. Can you send me a message?

    Thanks,
    Dianne

hmmm. I just checked and I'm set up so that 'anyone' can message me, so long as they are a member and they are logged in.

Is my message link there now? If not, post here, and I'll message you with my email address.

Good to see you here Sue! That doesn't surprise me that you 'grow all of those' lol

Thanks Kato! I've been lurking off and on since I went to the dark side of daffodils, iykwim.

I'm growing about 1,300 to 1,350 cultivars, and have more coming from purchases, private swaps, and 3 upcoming swap tables.

    Is that nuts or what?

That's not just nuts, that's insane! I love it :)

I ran out of room here. Everything has multiplied, needs dividing, and I'm trying to convince myself that I don't need to keep all of them, just the favorites. So far there hasn't been much progress and I still keep adding a few new ones each fall....

Yes, get rid of or relocate any that aren't your favorites. You know it's always easy to find new homes for daffodils. I've moved a lot of them that aren't exhibiting quality cultivars, to a lightly wooded area, and I'm planning on it becoming a picking area for springtime guests.

I dig between 4 and 5 hundred cultivars each year and have 286 on my list (at the moment) to be planted/replanted.

That's not just nuts, that's insane! I love it :)

Hey, I've seen your beds stuffed with shrubs, grasses, perennials and annuals. They are insanely beautiful and coordinated, and well tended.I love it :)

Sue, I sent you a message. Please let me know if you didn't get it.

It hasn't come through yet. I was going to message you with my email address, but now your message option is gone. I thought it was there yesterday. What's up with that?

Maybe it takes a while to come through. I'll check for it in the morning.

Your Houzz message came through to my email at 10:37 this morning.

I'll send you just my email address (for now) and will write more later.

The main thing is that you email (not message) me in late May with a reminder

    Sue
