Bathroom Window Coverings

We've been in our new home two months now and I suppose it's time to buckle down and get window coverings. We have two bathrooms at the front of the house that need something to help with privacy. First, the guest bathroom:

First off, I know the shower curtain is too long. We have the rod down on the shower surface while the paint totally cures on the drywall. As you can see from the second picture, this bathroom is RIGHT next to where a sidewalk will be leading to the front door (see the porch column). While it's just our family here, it's not an issue as we are far from the road and don't yet hang out in the front yard since it's pretty dismal looking out there with no landscaping yet. However, when we have guests we send them into another bathroom because it is far too exposed.

What do I do here? I thought of a café curtain because they are easy and cheap. Is that totally out of style? If I do one, do I need a valance, too? I like Roman blinds but we don't need the coverage at the top as much as the bottom half. Plantation shutters?

Master Bedroom: There is no walkway in front of this room as it's on the far side of the house. The ground slopes away from it, all the way down to the road nearly a quarter of a mile away. Half coverage is fine because of the slope and distance from the road. The blinds you see are $5 temporary ones. I considered top/bottom down cellular shades, but I really don't need the top part because I can't see climbing into the tub to change them very frequently. I'm not sure if it makes sense to buy them anyway and just leave them in the bottom position--it might, I just don't know enough about it. I don't want to spend a huge amount of money, so something high end is out of the question. Even $200-300 would be pushing it. I do kind of like the look of plantation blinds but I don't know how expensive they would be for this width.

Thanks for any advice on these. I need to make a decision and get going on this.
