Awesome coloring on that 'Red Rocket' ... later, let us know how long the show lasts with this beauty!

It lasted 2 weeks last year. Its on about a week right now

I saw a big autumn blaze maple today and my town used to be considered zone 2a and is now 3a. I need to get a pic when its completely red, almost there. Its probably 17ft tall.

Neighbor across the road from me has about a dozen 'Autumn Blaze' of about 20 ft tall, they were put in about five years ago as large specimens, the color this year is realllly striking!

'Fall Fiesta' is suppose to be a very good one, colors up early and foliage doesn't drop after a hard frost as many trees will. Does anyone have experience with this variety and whether it's satisfactory for this neck of the woods?

Fall fiesta I tried about 8 years ago in a yard. The tree is still there to this day but it died back a little one year and hasn't gotten any bigger than about 20 ft. I would pick Inferno Sugar Maple anyday over that. Fall color is amazing red and orange and fully zone 2 hardy from Manitoba.

Twros can you send a pic of the autumn blazes? I'll get that one in town here tomorrow.

I had been away for a bit and those two days of especially high winds had stripped most of the foliage off of the 'Autumn Blaze' maples across the road from me, doesn't help that they're planted in a very open setting.

My 'Prairie Splendor' hasn't yet at all colored up, normally it's quite spectacular!

Prairie splendor can have a nice red color. Typically my crimson sunset is really red but that -4 frost coupled with winds took a bunch of the leaves off prematurely and now its just covered with a few leaves and not much red color.

Depending on the weather (or possible stress), 'Prairie Splendor' has at times displayed almost sugar maple coloration of red, yellow and orange, I wish we'd get to enjoy such each autumn.

I've never seen that coloration nor have I ever heard of the crimson king having any fall color outside of a reddish color. Deborah norway maple has that fall coloration that you are describing. Only difference is that the purple leaves turn green for half of the summer. You obviously have a very rare prairie splendor.

I would love to see pictures.

I was unable to find the photo of 'Prairie Splendor' showing itself off in reds and oranges. The last two years the tree has grown strongly and filled in nicely, though fall color was pretty much nonexistent, sooo I'm thinking that the former bright display had likely been stress related or due to particular weather conditions.

It wasn't hot haha most of the days were seasonal but night temps haven't hit near freezing enough. -4 in beginning of Oct is normal where you are?? you're just in z 4 no
