Need tub ideas

We are being forced into a bottom floor remodel thanks to Harvey.

In the master bath we have a drop in tub that is 41"x58" inside an alcove that is 53"x59". My wife is lusting for a stand alone tub, but i am not sure if I can fit on between the closet walls. See picture below.

It looks like a deep alcove. You might be able to put the tub on an angle. How deep is that space?

I also would suggest an angle. Our stand-alone tub is approx. 29"W x 60"L. Might work.

I was looking at freestanding tubs today and saw many that were less than 60" long and might work on an angle. Also suggest you browse Houzz photos - maybe try a search for "tub on angle"?

Cleaning behind it will be a challenge. I shudder to think.

We are going to go with the Kohler Underscore Drop in. I really like the lines.

Great choice on a drop in versus free standing!

I used to be opposed to acrylic. Then I had one (because I didn't want to pay for all the reinforcement for putting an oversized cast iron tub into a second story no designed for it). And I love how warm the water stays!
