Any more description of this 8 foot plant?

The base of it looked like a Yucca. I didn't have my camera with me so that's about all I could describe.

good possibility it IS a yucca. the seed capsules are about the right shape. Most of my yucca seeds have been flat, but maybe?????

It probably was a yucca, but was very tall for one maybe only 6 ft. Not 8 foot like I mentioned. Although it still was very tall for a yucca.

The flower stalks on the yucca blossoms in my yard in MO is generally close to 6 ft but it does not get a lot of sun......... I've never looked at the seeds from these plants. Maybe next year I'll think of doing it.

Witch hazel, Hamamelis virginiana.....seeds often shoot out as the seed pods on this shrub open rapidly. I'm not sure this is what you have. The pods look right but the seeds are wrong...or harvested too early

Looks like Rose of Sharon to me.

No it isn’t Rose of Sharon. The seed's too small, the pod’s the wrong shape and there’s no dried calyx.
