Plant them now! If they're "well rooted" they'll do just fine--they'll be growing roots all winter, any time the soil isn't frozen, and you won't believe how they take off for you in spring as soon as it starts to warm up! Plant them and water them in well, but don't feed them with anything--you don't want to start any "active" growth since they need to be able to go dormant when it starts getting cold out. If your soil is "too wet" from the recent rain, wait till it dries out enough to be able to work in it without "compacting" it too much. Perennials can be planted all winter, any time the soil's not frozen, so there's no real "rush" to get them in immediately--tho I would recommend getting them in as soon as the soil is "workable" to give them as much "warm weather" as you can to get their roots started before it gets really cold.

Trying to keep perennials inside all winter is not a good idea, at the very least they won't "thrive." Hardy perennials like and need cold weather, and if for any reason you decide you can't put them in the ground I'd recommend potting them up to slightly bigger pots than they were started in and keeping them OUTSIDE, in a "protected" place over winter. But the best thing you can do for them is to plant them now/soon.

Then you get to Hover Over Them all winter and WAIT! You probably won't believe how great they do next spring!
