Do you eat them? Supposed to be good for you a.o. to lower blood sugar. So I thought I'd try, that was 4 weeks ago and the peelings went to the kitchen scraps bucket. Didn't know until yesterday that this root is poisonous when raw. Now I know why the worms in that particular bin aren't doing well and diminishing. (I didn't smell dying worms though). I wonder if it's still poisonous once decomposing. Any chemistry/biology expert here?
