Container is not that important as your care. But if you want to use self watering pot - Oyama is a top choice. Ceramic double pots kill more AVs than all pests together. And Streps are even more sensitive to overwatering.

Yo can keep your plant on a saucer - they do pretty well in natural light - the secret let them start drying up before they dry to crisp, but the pot already feels light. And do not let them sit in a water for long - empty the saucer.

The expert strep growers know when to water - they say - you look at the leaves - and they are not drooping yet - but already lost their sheen. My take - they are not drooping yet - but they will droop tomorrow.

When you repot - do not bury the center, pot it that it looks like the king of the hill.

I'm trying to decide if my east facing window will have enough light for them or not... it gets nice light in the morning but then the rest of the day it's just indirect (not bright) light because of the tall trees in the back yard. I'm thinking I may need to use artificial lights under one of my kitchen cabinets to ensure I get good blooming.

You can hang a shoplight or a shorter 24" tube above your plants on the window - and turn it on when the winter days are short and gloomy - or in summer when your trees are closing in. You do not need to turn them on for 12 hours, may be just when the sun is hiding - you can purchase an inexpensive timer in HD. Seems that your plants will do OK on your window, but if you want them to be blooming more - you can add a supplemental light.
