I love these, I have seen them in many hotels where, when you come in on a hot summers day, they are filled with water and have either basil leaves added, mint and lemon, sometimes fennel etc etc to give lovely flavoured water. I have also seen them done with lovely herbal teas (but I don't think they are warm)....

If you mean as a decoration instead of something to actually drink, some realistic looking faux lemons would look nice, and some limes for the other.

I was thinking more for decoration. They are perfect for Pimms or lemonade but otherwise when on display they look empty and unloved! Lemons and limes are good. Or I was thinking some vintages baubles perhaps

Most likely anything you put, you will like to change out depending on the season or the holiday.

Jellybeans

Except that I would be raiding the jellybean jar all the time, roo!

I wanted something like this to fill it with my keychains collection. So, for me they would be good to display something you collect and want to keep visible but away from dust.

This may sound silly but take clear cellophane that florists use around bouquets, crinkle it up, put it into the jugs, pour water over it. The reflection from the many angles of cellophane is quite dramatic. It also works wonders for helping cut flowers keep position in a vase.

I would suggest "Air Ferns". They are the ferns that grow at the top of the tree canopy in the rain forest.

These require no water (just misting or water beads in the bottom), no soil! I purchased two for a bath in my house just yesterday. They have attractive and unusual foliage, and they also flower.

Bauble wise: old Christmas balls, easter eggs, branch of fall leaves, old brooches and buttons.....

Multicolored ribbons

Put something in that you love or perhaps something that creates a conversation for your visitors. Something that draws the eye - so I love the idea of color and/or sparkle. Create your own conversation piece!

Goldfish…live…easy to feed and easy to drain the water and add fresh.
