I love your media selections and think gray is a wonderful color for them. For your sofa, I suggest a neutral color such as the color of natural linen. I also like the linen texture, though I would probably steer clear of real linen unless you have a tight upholstery style because otherwise it will wrinkle. But a linen blend or a linen look would be great, or cotton or velvet. Below is a picture of natural colored linen. I like that color because it's dark enough that it won't show every little thing, but light enough to look good.

I would look for a sofa with exposed legs like the one below because it will have a more graceful look and seeing the floor under the sofa will actually make the room look larger than if you used a sofa that went to the floor.

Once you get your neutral sofa, you can add artwork and rug and pillows to bring in color.
