As I understand, you want to choose a good white paint for your walls, with the blue-gray floors and cherry cabinets. Everyone struggles with white tones and obsesses over their choice. You may want to decide on everything together, such as drapes and upholstery. If are planning on white fabric (slip covers?), simply decide if you want bright white or yellow/creamy white. You can also mix bright white and linen fabric white, but one may make the other look dingy. Will your base and door trim be the same color as the walls? I read an interesting article by a famous decorator (can't remember her name) who said people should not obsess over choosing white. Pick a standard Benjamin Moore Super white, White dove (creamy grayer), Decorator's white and see what you think against the floor and cherry cabinets. Is Super white too bright next to the cabinets? Finally, as the famous decorator said, "In the end it is white, you will not see much difference from one to the next. Don't beat yourself up over your choice. They are all white.". Hope this helps a little bit. I personally have White dove trim with greige walls, and am happy with it. Good luck with your project. If you can post some pictures you will get more assistance. These are the photos minus the furnishings. Going to do a white washed wood dining table. Open to suggestions. I really like white and cream with a splash of turquoise. Light and bright! Was even considering painting the cherry cabinets white. My immediate dilemma is the wall cover. I would really appreciate advice!

Also want to add beachy stripe patterns to fabric and possibly jute area rugs.

Light fixture advice also appreciated.

Thank you….I think you will like Balboa Mist. It is just one of those paint colors which never disappoints. I was lucky to find a photo of it on the walls and some turquoise accents.

Balboa Mist is an off-white OC 26. I guess I misunderstood you…white and cream…but you want all white…woodwork and walls?

Then B.M Chantilly Lace…it will work with the floor. But again, it is an OC. The only white, white would be super white.

Every white has some undertone. I think you should chose a white based on your East light.

Can you please explain choosing on east light?

East light is new light…sun is barely up over the horizon. It is lovely in the morning, but as the sun moves around you are left with shadows and by mid day, any direct sunlight is gone. I always recommend a warm color to balance. nosoccermom recommended SW creamy…that’s a good one. I recommended Balboa Mist,,,another warm white. Don’t do White Dove…too blue/gray in undertones.

Sounds crazy, but the orientation of your house really makes a difference in how paint looks.

I had a stone floor in my last house..east facing room, colors similar to your floor. That is why I recommended Gray Cashmere. It isn’t gray, it isn’t blue, it isn’t green…it just works with the light.
