Can this be used as a butcher block?

    The walnut on this island is one of our premium wide plank wood countertops, which has our Marine Finish. This is a permanent finish that is also water and stain proof, but it cannot accommodate direct cutting or chopping. We do offer a sealed and oiled butcher block finish for our edge grain and end grain countertops, which work more like traditional butcher blocks.
