Fuzzy leaves?

Something I've wondered.

About 15 years ago I bought my first plant a desert rose at Home Depot. What attracted me to this plant were the fuzzy/hairy leaves and beautiful flowers. This plant is very big now and still in my family (hopefully will get a pic soon).

I currently have four other desert rose plants. Only one had fuzzy leaves and it is on the top grafted part. Can anyone tell me if the hair on the leaves is a different one not commonly found anymore?

This is the grafted one. I just cut a branch off that died. You can see small growth on the lower caudex which is the original plant. The long branch is the one with fuzzy leaves and is about to bloom.

Here are two I inherited. I still don't know what the flowers will look like. They do not have fuzzy leaves. Top one I've already uprooted to enlarge its caudex. The second one I will uproot soon before I begin training their branches.
