So I had a lock up in the drive wheels on my toro personal pace. I figured hey its something wrong inside so I spend the 60 bucks and get a new one.

Same problem occurs. Dang now what?

So I open the old one. Nothing broken, not even worn. Surprised because plastic gear and metal worm.

Mess with action manually and notice failure to disengage cog on reverse. Lube oil too tacky for plastic cogs. Makes them sticky.

Check my stash of gear oil for my tillers. Yep, this must be 200 weight.

Make a plan. See the screw? Lazy but effective hole. Just need my gun oil. Gonna cut that viscosity by dilution without removing new tranny.

Execute. Gasket seal on screw threads for insurance.

Mow yard. It works. Wheels turn freely rearward.

Still notice a drag when pulling back. Old tranny shows 2 metal strips in the cap. ????. Friction for why? Cog guide?? Cogs ride on shaft so confusion exists now. What do the strips do??
