Funny, my designer/stager said my windows were fine and they have NOTHING. More light comes through. Just make sure to wash the windows inside and out. I wouldn't spend the money on blinds that the new owners may take down and curtains can be a turn off.

If the OP has blinds, guessing she put them up for a reason as to why they were needed.

Doh. If they are not needed, of course the OP should take them down.

To me there are only two options: 1) remove them, or 2) replace them. Some people will decide against a house simply because the dining room is the wrong color; I can only imagine their reaction to damaged blinds. And the observation that it will make potential buyers wonder what else is wrong is right on the mark.

The previous owners put up new blinds when they put the house up for sale. We didn't see any need to take them down since they were new at the time. We just added our own curtains. After 7 years, a spirited child, and some excitable pets the blinds have seen better days. They definitely have to come down, I just didn't know if it would look a little off to keep curtains up without blinds or if the best option would be to replace the blinds. There's not a spectacular view outside the window, or a poor view for that matter...just an average street outside. I just hate to spend all that money on brand new blinds if there's a likely chance it won't make a difference in selling the house. But on the flipside, I don't want the lack of blinds to be seen as a negative factor.

I would prefer to see no blinds rather than to see some that were damaged... the end result is the same (I would have to replace them) but seeing the damaged ones gives me a more negative impression than not seeing any at all.

I do not believe one single responder suggested keeping damage blinds.

Remove damaged blinds. Do not replace. I have bought 7 homes and never expected window coverings to be included.

Let's put it this way: I would not buy new blinds if there weren't blinds there already, just for selling it, because the dog and cat will get to them. I'd buy classic white cotton panels that I could wash when the dog or cat got them dirty.

If you feel thrifty, you can take down the few undamaged blinds and put them in a box for the new owners to reuse or not, their choice.

I wouldn't spend a lot of money on them, but I might get new blinds to flank the front door and skip them on the other rooms. Home Depot sells cheap vinyl blinds and they also have metal ones that cost a little bit more but are still very affordable.

Remove them. Cheap blinds may be worse than none.

Remove them, no blinds or curtains, just make sure the windows are super clean.
