Sevile orange tree

last modified: 8 years ago

I'm very pleased with my Seville orange that came today from OGW. Strong tree and also lots of fruits on it already. Yeah, can hear you to take them off but will wait and see if they drop by themselves. Wondering how big do they get? more on the smaller side like limes???

Budda's hand came too but looks very small. Maybe not a vigorous grower like the seville???

My Seville is a good grower, the BH I got early this year from OGW and looked a bit like yours. It has grown well also. I can take a pic later or tomorrow...I’m not home now. They both look great! I’m glad you got such nice trees.

Looking forward to picture Laura. Yes very happy with the trees and certainly will keep an eye out for what OWG has to offer in the future :)

Okay then I need to take them all off as I think the tree is too small for that

I’d take them off Susanne. Be patient and let the little tree grow. I’m going to let mine self-thin this year, but it’s much bigger now. Here are mine:

little hands that will likely fall off
my Seville has really grown lately and is blooming everywhere!

Laura your trees look wonderful. No little hands on mine. You think yours were the same size as mine when you got them? Just wish the BH would have been a bit bigger. Thank you for sharing your pictures. Always love to see your trees :)

Susanne, the BH was the same size as yours and I got it from OGW early this year, so yes, that is the kind of growth you can expect for that one. The Seville I got in March/April of 2016 as an entry size tree from FW. It was tiny as you saw from my old post. It is now almost my height and very bushy. It has a lovely shape. Yours already has more branching than mine did when I got it, so I suspect you will have a lovely tree when it grows some. For the record, mine came from FW with a couple of blooms and the tiny fruit fell off. This is the first time it has bloomed since that time. The tree pretty much put all its energy into growing all this time.

Susanne, one more thing....I hope they have it under control now, but really watch out for scale on those trees for OGW. My BH had scale when I got it. Sammers said they seemed to have it under control, but better to be safe than sorry. Check every crevice and keep watching them over the coming weeks.

Yup I looked. The Seville looks absolutely perfect and I'm very excited about this one. BH might had some problems in the past but don't see anything now. Yes I will watch them very closely.

    Susanne,

You could leave one.... just for grins and experience.

John are you teasing me? ;) My Trovita is doing fantastic btw. Fruits still growing and new flush and flower buds too. But Trovita was bigger to begin with.
