It'll be fine. If you want it to straighten up, just plant it root side down and let the seedling be bent over the top. It will start to straighten up fairly quickly and you can readjust it again as it does so.

On the other hand, a lot of people go to a lot of trouble to try to get bendy, looping seedlings for more interesting forms. They intentionally plant them upside down in hanging nets or other means to make them grow bent around and as they get larger, wrap them around dowl rods and other such things to make them as twisty this way and that as possible.

So, you have options! There is no reason a seedling has to grow straight up. I tip mine over and work on twisting some about so they aren't all the same, because that'd be boring if they are all upright. But it depends on what interests /you/. ;)

Thank you for your excellent reply.. I shall encourage my newest baby to follow its chosen growth path and hope that it doesn't croak in the process.. You are absolutely right to say that variety is the spice in life and monotony can be far less interesting.. I recently germinated a batch of 76 seedlings from my own home-grown accidental seed pod and a high percentage followed a typical upward reaching posture, so this little rebel should truly stand out from the crowd.. Looks like his one and only root has rotted away? Maybe that’s why he’s trying to check his underground bits out! Best to remove any dead root and pop him back into some dryish mix to see if he will resprout.
