Make that the 2nd year in a row, I'm like let's add 3 peonies here and of course, I'm thinking about this when I'm doing fall stuff (planting bulbs, taking down the vegetable bed supports, throwing leaves around -- getting the snowblower out and giving it some gas and some tlc)

And of course, for the 2nd year in a row, I arrived too late to the party ;-/

I've officially put on calendar for memorial day weekend 2018, to order up peonies for fall 2018 planting.

Put it on your calendar for the last week of December. Several of the nurseries list the plants for sale then. Depending on what you want some nurseries are still shipping. You just have to look.

I looked at Harvey's website and found this, "

The 2017 shipping season is closed.

Thank you for a great year. Please get your roots planted now.

The website will be disabled while we update it for 2018. We expect to be online again in November"

So you do not have to wait long. Harvey sells out quickly of some of his rarer plants. Like within a day or two. Shipping of course will be next fall for Harvey but some growers put peony roots in cold storage and can ship at any time of the year. You just have to ask. http://hiddenspringsflowerfarm.com/

While I did not compare via a Excel spreadsheet, all of them seemed pretty much at similar pricepoints.

Is there a GW consensus on the go to peony sources

On my bookmarks, I have AD, SongSparrow, Hollings, GW,HS and Swenson. Am I missing anyone else ?

Adelman's who are still shipping until Oct 31, Fina, Brooks, and a lot more. Here is a list from APS with many nurseries. Some ship some do not.
