If you have an Ikea near you, take a look at their bamboo lattice Sinnerlig ceiling fixture, by designer Ilse Crawford. I thought of it and then remembered having just seen it in a photo in a recent issue of British House & Garden magazine, where they used three over the dining table. I'll see if I can find the photo online.

You will get more help if you acknowledge those who have taken the time to post picks or offer advice so that they will know if they are close, off base or spot on. Also, its helpful to mention a price range. Dining lights start at under a hundred and go into the thousands.

suzi, might be worth considering a combination of Ikea and Craigslist. Go to your nearest Ikea, see what you like, and based on your own ideas -- at Ikea and CL -- you can ask here what folks think about how things work in the house and together with each other.

I like this beachy look - white wood table on jute rug, however not the chandelier.

Yeah the Ikea sofa is a great sofa for the price it will give you the look you want. just do a wine barrel light and wicker chairs and the Ikea sofas

Oh dear, I wouldn't have made the suggestions I did had I known this. So budget, quick, and online/mail order. I guess that rules out the Ektorp sofa too, unfortunately.

I would look at World Market or Pier 1 for pendants/chandeliers -- just about everything looks as if it would work a beachy aesthetic. I would look at Pottery Barn for a slipcovered sofa, I think there's something in their lowest price range that would work. Not sure about comfort or sturdiness, though.

Oh, thank you for letting me know! I believe Ikea delivers so the Ektorp may still be an option... I hope - really love the look and price! I will also check the 3 sites you mentioned.

Most any Wine Barrel Chandelier will work. You said ou had 500 to spend on the light?

or you can browse overstock, the cheaper you get the more likely the light will require more assembly.

To me a wine barrel chandelier says wine country or Mediterranean style, not so much beach house. But that's just me.

And medium color stained cabinets don't say beach house to me, each to his own :)
