Agreeable Gray does not agree with my space

Agreeable Gray is pulling too much blue in my space/lighting. Alternative recommendations for a light griege color that would NOT show blue or purple, etc.?

I really like Benjamin Moore Revere Pewter. Definitely more of a "griege". I have to say I like the agreeable gray in your room! However you must like it too. Good luck!

I think it looks great! But I know that photos on computers often don't show the reality; everyone's monitor is a little different. I've used Agreeable gray a number of times and always thought it has a sage/taupe undertone. As shown, I think it looks lovely with your warm wood floors and don't think it looks too blue at all.

Could it be your rug "throwing things off"? I, too, like the colour of your walls.

    Lighting will effect color.

You may be able to "change" the color with a bulb change.

I would try a couple of different bulbs & see if that helps you get the color in the room you prefer.

Here is a great link for more info.

Thank you both! It is really pretty in the natural light, but when there is no natural light and you have the light bulbs on it looks to blue. So I started painting and stopped once I started seeing so much blue, my plan is to paint the kitchen and eating area. I am worried as I move into kitchen it might continue to just not look right. Here is another picture that includes the kitchen. Kitchen is currently a darker golden color, would something like accessible beige work better in this space overall, or perhaps something else? I want to overall brighten up the space and would like a neutral greige that won't be too impacted by my lack of natural light.

I think you are correct - a warmer colour would better balance the warmth from your floor and cabinets. By the way, I tend to favour beige/cream and warmer colours as found in your kitchen - just seems more cozy and homey - nice.

I agree with the warmer colors.

Sarah, one thought is to look at BM's Winds Breath. It's a light neutral greige (warm-ish) that can be great in the right space and light.

On upper walls in this example...

    ...and with warm flooring here.

I really like the colors in your rooms. I have tried samples of SW Dover White and the yellow undertones are just not working in my space. The BM Winds Breath looks like it might work. I am seeing a warm undertone but no yellow, am I correct? I would pair it with white trim, soft gray upper cabinets and darker gray bottom. Your pictures make it look just perfect! What color trim did you choose?

I think you should try BM edgecomb Gray. It is a magical color that works in any light. This color complements any decor style and gives your home best of the gray and beige world without committing to one or the other. It is fresh and airy with a perfect LRV and chroma for your house.

I have the same problem. I feel your pain. So Much pain.

(Wouldn’t you know: it’s reading beige in these photos. in person it looks just like your paint and it’s clashing with dark wood. ours is mahogany)it worked in our new bathroom but not the bedroom. It isn’t working with the furniture. I used a color specialist that I love. It’s just not revealing the warm undertones like it should. It’s bad enough that we have to repaint. the pressure is to pick the right color.....and not need a 3rd.
