One looks like it is almost ripe already! That ripe one will finish ripening fine.

The other I doubt it will advance. It will probably shrivel and drop doesn't matter what you do. I would pick and eat the ripe one and let the plant go to sleep so it is raring to go in the spring.

I took it off and ate it a few days later. It was soft and
sweet, but had little flavor. That tree is in my dining room right now
and the smaller fig on it has grown some more. I doubt it will ripen but
I'll let nature run its course.

I have a few other fig plants that I'll put in the garage once they lose all
their leaves. They are all larger, but didn't set any figs. Next
season I hope to have more and better tasting figs.

Could it be that the larger plants didn’t set fruit because they’ve grown in
bush form instead of a single trunk?

ronde is a very good and tasty fig to grow here in our cold area's they are good growers and producers in containers in month of August as i have one in 30g pot.

Yours being young will grow well next season and may i suggest that you put that one in at least a 10g pot during dormancy and watch what it does with a little fertilizer next season as this cultivar can grow as fast as the mission plant .

I have also witnessed the fast growth of this variety. The one pictured is two feet and the smallest of my four all of which were started from four inch cuttings less than a year ago. The others are in 5 to 25 gallon pots and twice as large.

The also appear to be quite hardy as they don't seem daunted by the high twenty temps we've had overnight so far. They haven't browned or lost any leaves. At this rate I won't have them in the garage until thanksgiving.
