Glass tile would look really nice. A mosaic ribbon may also help to balance the different color base and overheads. This is just an example to show How the mosaic looks with the glass.

We used this wavy tile for our kitchen backsplash and really love it. It adds a little bling when the light catches it, but it is easy to clean and a few specks or streaks don’t show too readily. I had a box leftover and combined it with second colour and a plain white tile in my recent bathroom renovation.

Thanks for the ideas.......I like both suggestions. I am trying to find something with a little color that can fit since the kitchen is very grey/white in tone. I might have to go the white route but would like not to. : )

What is your budget for tile? I really like Red Rock Tileworks; they are handmade, to order and offer a uniqueness you can't find outside of handmade tile. There is this great glaze pooling that occurs and the variation in one color is superb.

Your modern kitchen and white counter could support all kinds of color, so just go to a tile store and look around. A colored glass could be great.

My budget is fairly open......I am not tying choice to budget. If something I like cost a little more I am willing to pay (within reason). I have been leaning toward a glass tile.

I think this chevron marble tile would be lovely. It's modern, has some color/movement and interest and would compliment the two tones of your grey cabinetry and also works with your floor tile. https://tilebar.com/talon-calacatta-and-thassos-marble-tile.html Bringing home lots of samples will be the best thing you can do though. Your counter reads more cream than white on my monitor. For a backsplash, I always recommend matching the main color of the counter and the backsplash, whether you use a solid backsplash or multi-color material.....the matching color element connects the backsplash to the counter. Take a look at a mosaic or multi-color subway in glass or ceramic which includes a light gray to match your uppers and a whitish color to match your countertop. The additional colors may give you an accent color for accessories or window treatments.
