Hello all,

I live in upstate SC. My sister last year gave me a banana plant. I planted it, did nothing to it, it died during the winter and came back in the spring. This year I have bananas. I have read that it takes many many months of warm weather to produce bananas. Is this correct? Bananas are very small and I figure once it gets very cold they will die. Do banana plants ever get acclimated to the climate it is in? Forgive my ignorance, I am learning here. Do these bananas taste like bananas you get in the grocery stores?
