This is my Quietness from ARE, new to my garden this year.

It's given several lovely blooms and grown a little bit.

So, I just wished to share this little development!

Well; of course since our season is essentially done (hard freeze a few days ago), Quietness has decided to send this wonderfully fat new basal cane. I'm hoping at least some of the above ground growth can harden off enough to survive for next spring though at least I know the underground part will survive. I swear this shoot wasn't present a couple of days ago!

Amazing how roses' colour shifts through the seasons. The last bloom image is from this summer. It's much pinker in autumn.

In all honesty, if I didn't know this was an own-root plant I'd suspect a rootstock sucker!
