IMO corner fireplaces are the stupidest idea ever arranging furniture is next to impossible . You have a huge wall where the T.V is why not incorporate the fireplace on that wall but not with the T.V above it.

Against corner fireplace for reasons stated by Patricia. If you do put one in, I would put to left of center of long wall, because you can't put much furniture in front on sliders anyway and then do the console and TV to the left of the fireplace insert. (I assume that is what you mean by "propane insert"?)

I misspoke above, I meant the fireplace toward the outside wall on the long wall. Then the TV console to the left.

In general, I’m not a fan of corner fireplaces either but, if you place it on the tv wall, your tv will have to be mounted beside it, which would likely make the viewing angle less comfortable. If you place it in the left corner, it won’t feel like part of your room and it might look a little bit squat due to the bulkhead. If there’s room, I’d have to side with your husband and place it in the corner, next to the slider. Our walkout layout is somewhat similar and, other than planning to replace the tile with stone and paint the brass, we’re very happy with the fireplace. The layout is very comfortable for watching tv or socializing. Your room is bigger than ours but, to my eye, the posts and orientation of your sectional make the left side read more like a hallway. A pub height games table and/or a small bar would look great along there.

I think something like this is the perfect use of that large wall
