Those types of photos show up here and there - I always figure it’s either a renter living there, or could be part of a less than amicable estate sale. Although with a lake property like this maybe there’s a savvy listing agent behind it who figured out a way to capture a much wider audience via social media??

We listed a summer cottage a couple of years ago. We store all of the outside furniture inside for the winter. The agent took pictures before we could move anything back outside and with no curtains open and no lights on. We made him come back and redo them.

Ya, it isn’t that bad and it wouldn’t have taken that much effort to clear the crap out of sight. Or clear it out of a few rooms and just take pictures of those. I just can’t imagine having those photos in my listing.

Agree with kudzu and anglophila 100%. Seller is obviously either distressed or doesn't care about the property at all. Possibly a tenant as mentioned above. There is no excuse for taking the photos with all the junk on the kitchen counters.

^they could be in the middle of moving - but why would you have marketing photos taken for your listing at that time? At a minimum it is extremely poor planning.

That home would look so much better staged. If the owner can't do it, then it should be vacant. If the owner is still living there (camping out), then at least make it clean and neat. As it is now showing, buyers get the idea of either distressed or that the owner doesn't care. When I say "doesn't care" - that usually means the property is not maintained well through a buyers POV. Treating the photos as an after thought rather than a proper marketing tool costs the seller money. Not a good thing.
