I was sitting here on my couch just now and I noticed there are 4 little itty bitty insects on my lamp. One is dead, two are alive, and one is flying around the bulb of the lamp. They're too small to photograph with my crappy phone and I almost didn't realize they were even alive. I'll do my best to describe what I'm seeing.

- Super tiny... like... fleck of pepper tiny. I thought they were dust at first

- They act like fruit flies. Erratic, zipping motion when flying, but they hop in that way leafhoppers teleport out of your range if I put my finger near one.

- They ARE NOT fruit flies. I am 100% sure of that. I've finally conquered the fruit flies in my house from a sneaky rotten apple and I know what a fruit fly looks like.

- Fruit flies have the big bulbous head and a humped thorax. This insect is more akin to the aforementioned leaf hopper, in that their body and head are streamlined.

- They have wings and when stationary, they fold them down against the body like a grasshopper. The wings are speckled grey and white.

- I don't see antenna. Either they fold them in very close where I can't see them, or they don't have any. I'm guessing the former.

- Their abdomen appears to be the longest part of the body (Again, like a grasshopper) but I'm really not sure.

I literally have no idea what these are. I don't know if they're anywhere else or if they pose a threat/could become a pest issue. I live in Missouri. Any thoughts?
