Thanks Pete, Yes, the weather here has been very erratic. Our older plants are not flowering as well as they usually would for this time of year. They went from cold weather to heat wave conditions, then pouring rain for days and now sunny, hot with thunderstorms. Hopefully the weather won't ruin the flower before it has a chance to open. :)

My plants are the same some have no leaves at all they should have but they are completely bare we are going to be smashed by rain today its a bit chilly to 18deg cel it sucks

Wow! I can never get mine to bloom that soon. What are your secrets?

Hi Candice, no secret here....Actually these have grown slower then normal for me as they were planted in mid Autumn and had to get through Winter as small babies. I usually don't plant seeds at that time of the year, but as these came from my own seed pods I decided to plant some, so I had something to tend to through Winter.

I had them outside in sun all day through Winter and brought them inside at night to keep them warm. They were lightly fertilised through Winter, just to make sure they had enough nutrients. They still grew very slowly during Winter though. They were repotted about 5weeks ago into the pots in the photos, and they just took off....Our Spring has been unusually hot and we also have had quite a bit of rain. The seedlings seem to like the weather and the repot into bigger pots.

Very nice. I think if you want your seedlings to bloom at that age then you must sow them during the fall. Once the warm weather comes around you put them outside in full sun and they will probably have flower buds.

Hi everyone, Well, I was doing a bit of sketching and decided to take a break and wandered outside and my flower bud had finally opened.

It looks white in the photo, but it's more of a cream/very pale yellow. Just a single flower, although a nice clean colour.....but still not a keeper for me. Will wait and see what the rest of my seedlings are, once they develop flower buds. :)

Rachel - I dont think a plant's first bloom is the real bloom. I think it will get closer to parent bloom with more maturity. Maybe it will flower double next time like Mr Ko's mother plant. I would keep it till and see next year's blooms.

Hi Agartta, thanks for the advice, but I won't be hanging on to this one for another year. I try to keep a smaller collection now, so it doesn't take so much time to take care of them....I still have about 30 more seedlings germinated at the same time, yet to flower.....Plus about another 30-40 babies we planted about 4 weeks ago that are going to need attention. So this one will have to find a new home now ;)

Thanks Francesco, this plant has now gone to a good home. It went to a nice guy who is going to give it to his father for Christmas. He said his father is just starting to collect Adeniums and he doesnt have one like this? So I am pleased. :)

Now I wait for the rest of my seedlings to flower :)
