tools for citrus?

Please show and tell what you are using in your kitchen when working with citrus fruits. I'm looking for a grater and juicer. I have some hand held but not really happy about the performances.

I use a Microplane and the Alex's Lemonade Stand Juicer. I got it based of the Wirecutter recommendation here: Wirecutter Review. I love my Microplane and uses it daily for zest, garlic, cheese, nutmeg etc. The juicer is nice for jucing large quantities as it goes super quick and gets all the juice out but I prefer a simple hand press for a single fruit since its less cleanup.

Sammers yes I was thinking about a microplane but was wondering does it really do a good job. Looks a bit like it is for cheese. And the juicer are great for oranges but what about the smaller lemons or limes?

The Microplane is absolutely for citrus zesting and not great for cheese as the holes are really small, and get clogged easily with cheese. I only use it for Parmesan when I need it really fine but other than that there isn't a better tool IMO for zesting just the zest and not the pith or grating a garlic clove. The juicer comes with a large and small size attachment for limes/lemons and oranges/grapefruits. I juiced everything from a key lime to a grapefruit and it works well. Though the key lime is pretty funny looking when juicing as they are so small, I don't use the hand guard as its easier to hold the fruit and there is no injury that can arise from the machine.

I have a Krups electric juicer from the 80's which I love. I don't think this model is available anymore. I will be very unhappy if it ever breaks.

What are your issues with performance?

I picked up a squeezer like your green one, and realized that it adds quite a bit more oil to the juice, compared to a reamer. For some applications, this may be a negative. For limeaid, it's great.

The microplane is awesome. Can't wait to use mine on some homegrown citrus.
