What I really like about all those ....quats is that I can use all of it rind and all. I love to make juice in a blender and can see just pop some in with a bit of yogurt and stevia.

I wonder if you can just put whole Limequats in a blender to make a slushy juice to make the "limequat pie".... You probably need 8-10.... mine was very juicy but again, they're so tiny... and my tree only has 2 medium size fruits on it now.

Oh how disappointing. Will they ripen after they fell off? Get sweeter in time? I know not this one as you already devoured it. Poor thing. I just hope the one I ordered will be the same variety as yours :)

I don't think so. The general rule for citrus is, after they're off the tree, they won't get any bigger, sweeter or juicier. They can still change color which makes it more appealing I guess. My tree is a "Cocktail" from Record Buck if you've heard of them. Just hope it's a "Lakeland" The other two types have more seeds and 1 of them looks weird... More oval than circular.

Here's an update to this post. Limequat didn't do very well indoors Winter 2017... Mostly because it was in the same pot as dying Meyer. Separated plants in Spring 2018...damaged some of the roots separating the limequat... And than I re-potted to a massive pot which was a mistake.

It did well in the Spring/Summer 2018... Put out some growth, bloomed and held onto 3 fruits.

By Fall/Winter I brought the limequat in again... It kept ripening the fruit but began losing leaves and branches dying again...

The good new is it managed to ripen the fruit... I already had the smaller limequat when it fell off earlier this week. It was tasty so I'm excited for these 2 bigger limequats. Once I harvest these fruits, I'll throw the plant out and try again with a new limequat... Hopefully I can be more successful with my experience now....

Enjoy them! My limequats are finthis winter...they have not had any WLD, but other citrus have suffered more.

Dave, why throw it out? I would do all I could to give it another year to get a fresh start with lots of sunshine and good feriltizer...It should come back strong)

Because it keeps getting smaller each year instead of bigger lol... Futhermore, I don't know if it can recover... it looks pretty bad.

Why keep fighting with a sick/failed tree when I can get a new one that's healthy and can produce fruit this year... and now with my experience I can better take care of it.

I have limited space in the Winter, don't want an under performing tree taking up valuable window space. I'm worried if I nurture it back to health this Summer, I'll bring it inside again next Winter and if it dies it'll be a waste of a growing season.

I'll attach a photo tomorrow but it's literally a 6" tall trunk with 1 long horizontal branch. The wood instead of being a healthy green colour, it's a brownish and cracked along the branch.

Dave, I have one like that....my bouquet de fleurs. It will not thrive, but does not die either....so annoying.

Isn't that the worst? You're stuck in limbo trying to decide whether or not to throw it out. I'm getting 2nd thoughts about the limequats.... Very exotic and tasty but if I find a good deal on some type of mandarin or clementine, I might opt for one of those instead.
