I will second that....but also if you get to a point where you take them off put them in a clear closed container of your choice with damp soil and they will grow roots and be happy. They just need to go into a "Violet ICU" as I call it lol. I have some of "Deans Faded Rose" that are the same way super white.

I didn't have any success with white babies... you need to be patient and keep them attached to the mother leaf until they will turn green. Fish emulsion, upper shelf to warm them up - and time.

You can't tell from the picture but that's a very, very small mama and really tiny babies. I was going to leave it where it is for a while. It's a closed container with some other leaves in it too. The soil is pretty moist. Am I wetting it further with fish emulsion or do I dry out the soil a bit first?

I'm sure you're not just using fish fertilizer on the babies. Are you all routinely using the fish fertilizer on your other mature plants? Are you adding it to a fertilizer solution or using it instead of fertilizer?

I am thinking that taking the starter pot in question from the cover - gradually - will be for the good. You need to wean it and make it work for a living.

No I do not fertilize with fish emulsion unless I need too. Probably weak solution will be good, but not under the dome. Fish emulsion kept moist... it will stink from here to Tallahassee...and Jeff will complain.

(lighter side) Sure, grab a goldfish from kid's aquarium, squeeze lightly and you have fish excretion, squeeze harder and you may get fish emulsion. You know some Indian tribes planted corn beside/inside a fish, for fertilization.

In all seriousness, I don't care much for fish emulsion, I don't find any benefit less messy and stinky fertilizers don't provide. I sure hope your babies get more green, or they won't make it.

Oh you guys! That is fish abuse! Just buy a bottle of fish emulsion if you need something fishy!

On the other hand, I can't stand the smell of it either.

Now if you want animal fertilizer,,,do what my husband does. If he kills a cricket, box elder or other bug in the house,,,,,he puts them in my plants! All I can say is (my non serious side kicking in!!!!) thank goodness my dogs are housebroken!!!!!!! lol Rosie
