Yes, I have several Yuzu trees of different varieties. They are seen as the most cold hardy and pest resistant of all the citrus locally. The fruit is surprisingly not that popular, and shows up more in novelty items. The most common use I see is people throw a bunch of whole fruit in the bath to scent the water, and throw them away after.

I pick them a bit early, and use the sour juice as a drink mixer. Kids actually like them if you dip slices in sugar.

theniceguy: Interesting that the fruit is used to scent water for a bath. In India, crushed citrus leaves or peels were often used as anti-nauseating agent especially for kids.

Next spring I will certainly try to get a yuzu plant. Plus a calamondin.

I am not fond of Yuzu; but I am a big fan of its part in creating Ponzu sauce.

I wish I could find some fresh fruit and try those sauces. They sound delicious. Sounds like out on the west coast it is easier to find fresh fruits just like other fruits not available to us.

Trader Joe's had Yuzu hot sauce a short while back, imported from Japan. It went well with egg rolls and tamales.
