There isn't a right or wrong - personal preference. Also consider replacing the floors to break up the wood.

Keep the wood floor. They're timeless and if you remove them, you'll likely have to remove cabs n counters too if they're sitting upon it. If u paint the cabs, hire a pro. That is not trivial!

Yes it could go either way if you paint them definitely hire a pro .have you considered refinishing them with a new stain color

How about painting/staining the island, replacing some of cabinet doors with glass and throwing down some rugs on the floor.

Yes, paint the cabinets. Pull a neutral color out of the countertops, keeping it light as the backsplash and countertops are both dark. I agree about the island, paint it an accent color that compliments the kitchen and the adjoining room as well. Professionally done is the way to go with the cabinets. Post photos when done!

Hmm. Tough to say, looks like listing photos, where colors can get over saturated. If they're really this orange, definitely paint them. What gives me pause is picture #2, where the island cabs look much more neutral, cooler and less glossy. A much more contemporary look--however, I assume this is due to daylight hitting it, and overall the first pic is more accurate?

I'd paint, leave floor, and for kitasei, hey the wood is still under there, no one is destroying it. And in 30 years when that look comes back, someone can refinish them back down to the wood, it'll be like finding gold! ;)

So, did you ever paint these cabinets? If so please post pics. I searched this topic and your kitchen looks like mine...warm wood, on warm wood, dark granite and more warm wood floors....too monochromatic for my taste:) I'm considering getting them painted too
