Rubbing alcohol water spray for spider mites

Does rubbing alcohol mixed with water (1:3 or 1:1 ratio) work on spider mites? As a quick fix I made a solution with a few drops of mineral oil in a small water bottle which I sprayed on my affected key lime plants. I'm wondering if I should use rubbing alcohol as another option or in addition to the mineral oil.

Lastly, I forgot that I have a bottle of Safer Insect Killing Soap. It lists potassium salts of fatty acids as the active ingredient and supposedly can be used on mites. But from reading on this forum people don't recommend insecticidal soap sprays for mites. Unless I misunderstood.
