I love the idea of a warm gray. I think it would look great with your fireplace, etc.

Open all the curtains and blinds, turn on the lights, and take more photos. Include a white piece of paper to help the camera color balance.

Which objects are colors you love? Any artwork, ceramic bowls, other things?

I white balanced the photos using the paper taped to the walls, hopefully that helps. I am planning on keeping all my furniture and artwork, though I might add some new things to accent the new color. I would like the new color to look good with my current furniture and fireplace. I am thinking about changing the backsplash in the kitchen to something lighter. I would appreciate any and all ideas! Thanks

Just some examples of house colour schemes that work well. A nice warm grey would look good, a grey green in kitchen will go beaut with those cabinets

Whatever color/colors you choose please don’t make the mistake of using a “durable” gloss or eggshell paint. You will never be able to make a touch-up because it will SHOW. You can get washable matte paint from Benjamin Moore and other companies. I learned the hard way and had to repaint entire walls just to fix a few scuffs.

Our current paint is just a builder basic flat paint, and it also did not touch up well at all. It seems like I have read elsewhere (don't remember where) that an eggshell or satin finish is the best compromise between a flat, easier to touch up paint and a glossy, easier to clean up paint.

Builder grade paint is terrible. The flat/matte that I mentioned is totally washable and is top quality. Whoever told you eggshell could be touched up is not correct. Ask any professional painter and they will tell you the same thing. I am a designer and paint consultant. Wouldn’t steer you wrong. Benjamin Moore is my favorite but Sherwin Williams is also good. Use semigloss paint in a kitchen or bath only!

Thanks for new photos. Try the linen color in the living room pillows' background on a foamcore board. Then add the ruby or cranberry red accents. Or try green accents with a light gray-blue for walls.

I have difficulty understanding " warm gray". That would be like saying a " bright cloudy" day. I think that your current color, or something similar works well with your furniture, fireplace, etc. I would stay in the beige/tan family.

I also liked this shade when I picked it, but now it seems a little too yellow. But you have given me something to think about - perhaps a lighter or different shade, but still in the beige family. I'm also thinking of changing the backsplash to one of the lighter colors in the countertop. Thanks!

A warm grey has brown in the base. When there is more brown it turns into taupe. Cool grey has blue. A good paint store can help guide your color choice.
