Ranges

Trying to decide which range to get, have not yet settled on a price range and looking for what would be the best balance of function vs price for me.

My choices I have been considering are:

- Samsung 30" all gas or duel-fuel range in black stainless, probably with the double oven

- GE Cafe' Series 30" all gas or duel-fuel range in black

- Big Chill 30" or 36" Retro Range

- Big Chill 30" or 36" Classic Range

- Aga 36" Legacy Range

- Aga Elise 48" Range

- Ilve Majestic Series 30" or 36" Range

- BlueStar 30" or 36" Range

- Verona 36" Range with a double oven

- Smeg 30" or 36" Range

My thoughts... I want a color and I have never used a higher end range before. and I am trying to stick to common sizes (these 3 sizes seem to be the most common), just in case. Many of the better consumer brands cost close to the same as the less expensive higher end brands, (most being $3,000-$5,000, I know a few I listed are upwards of $7,000 though). This is a closed kitchen with a door, very vintage looking (but with color). Not sure which of those I prefer so I would really appreciate opinions/reviews of each.

FWIW, I got a Bluestar wall oven plus a Wolf induction cooktop. The reasons were:

1. If one should break, I'll still have the other.

2. Any kind of combination unit will be compromised in one part or another. You can get the best of both

3. Bending down to get something out of the oven isn't all that much fun--and if it's not fun you'll find excuses not to do it.

I'm planning on having ether a wall oven or double ovens in addition to a range. If I went with a range top I'd likely get one with a grill. Btw I love the French door oven! I'm short and the oven door always made it hard for me to access the wall oven in the house I grew up in.

I mostly wanted a range too to use it's oven as a warming cabinet and for dishes where it starts on the stove and then goes in the oven since the wall oven would be quite far from the range, also I like the look of these ranges I listed and they fit better for the look of the house (I don't like stainless and stainless would be very out of place).

Note that Bluestar has something like 670 colours that you can choose from. It doesn't need to be stainless. I chose stainless because I can mix and match brands. The backsplash is stainless because I thought about how many times I would clean the ground in a tile surface (e.g. zero), but stainless isn't for everyone. I lined the bottom of the under sink counter with stanless because it will reduced the damage when, not if, the sink plumbing leaks.
