What a sweet gift to your wife! A nice chandelier always makes a big change to the mood of a bedroom. Also, I always think of metal beds as more romantic. Of course, there is lots of ways this project could go. Good luck!

What's your idea of glam? Gold accents, mirrored furniture? Will you be painting? Are you a fan of the gray colors that are so popular now? Do you want to shop locally or online? Will you be keeping a t.v. in the room? What are the room measurements?

I don't see wallpapered accent with your walls/windows. But this makes me think you should keep the dresser [mirror or not kept] - and seeing a purplish rug in other room: what about this sort of look?

Lighter look for bed, but to blend [what kind would?] with dresser:

With few touches of gold, maybe you wouldn't have to paint.

An upholstered headboard is waaay more comfortable than an iron one. New drapes or shades & bedding in a softer color that she likes ( maybe her favorite colors to wear ?).

I have no idea of her favorite colors but I love this soft mauve bedding and the miiroed pieces. If it was my bedroom I would find art that is softer in colors than what you have and when you hang them much lower on the wall The other bedroom color I love is gray with lots of different textures.

How about you post some ideabooks about what you think you and she would like?

I think a change in bedding and going for lighter colors might really help brighten up the room and would be a great gift to her!

It would help to decide on bedding first, then use that to choose wall color and curtains.
