Quick guess the carpeted area looks to be about 7’ x 12’ . I am not a huge sectional lover, but I think it is the best solution for your space. You need a traffic path from the slider (left to right door), so you can’t put anything in there.

You will want the sectional entirely on the rug, so be careful you don’t buy anything huge. Go for MCM look, up off the floor.

.If you don’t need a fan (do not like the one you have with the lights…ugh), remove it; remove the dining chandelier and replace with two of the same chandeliers. Makes for a great look. Don’t be afraid to go a bit larger…it will make a statement…give you focal point.
