I love these suggestions! I will post pictures of the tiles. The vanity is a kind of honey colored wood. I’m thinking of not doing an accent tile unless I do one inside the shelf.

Forget the decorative dtuff until you’ve learned as much as you can about how to properly build and waterproof a shower. Disaster stories abound. Don’t be one.

the best thing for this shower area it to have a decent size niche on the back wall. there is never enough room for your stuff in these tubs. make your niche a double width, or double height. use your accent tiles for those. Have a knowledgable tile setter who can properly waterproof these and knows how to lay tile properly.

A niche like this is great if you have more than a few people who use the shower. soap, shampoo bottles, razors,,everything fits in here. just make sure it's properly sloped and waterproofed

or a niche like this is perfect. this was tiled by a skilled tile setter. this would be a disaster by someone who tiles twice a month and is cheap!

Or, use the accent tiles on the front wall in a vertical direction.

These are really nice too! We have a pro installing the shower. He came highly recommended. I’m terrified of water damage so I made sure to hire someone who specializes in tile.

I like the beige tiles a lot. I was thinking of also maybe doing beige on the ends or sides and also doing a different color tile in the center in a deeper color. I can’t decide. Maybe it should all be the same color?

Another question? The bathroom is a little on the small side, do you recommend using large tiles like a 12x24? If so, what’s the best lay out? I’ve seen some in a brick pattern and some just stacked? Should they go all the way to the ceiling?

the larger the tile, the more likely they are to bow, which means getting them perfectly flat in the shower will be more difficult. if your tile guy is old school, he will mud the walls rather than doing a cement board or something similar. When they mud the walls, they can get the walls just about plumb/level, making the tile layout easier.

You could do 6x18, tiles in your shower since it's on the small size. Or go w/the large 12x24. ask about bowing. the longer the tiles, the more likelihood of them bowing in the middle
