Cement encaustic tiles

I installed cement tiles last month. First when the contractor installed them they stained with the grout, dark grey mapei unsanded recommended by the tile store. The contractor had sealed the floor with sealer recommended by the store twice and let it dry for 3 days before grouting. He emptied the bottle sent by the tile store. Fortunately he stopped as soon as he saw the tiles got stained so he had to removed the tiles and replace them. We resealed the floor several times and it appears the tiles are quite porous.
They were sealed with dry treat, which is an impregnator sealer, and the surplus removed. I feel it has been sealed quite well after having tested it with water. But I would like to reseal every few months with a water based sealer because of the smell and we are entering winter and it's now difficult to air (and use the drytreat in the warmer months)
Do you think I can use a water based sealer a few months after having used a solvent based sealer ? Are they compatible ?
What water based impregnator sealer would you recommend ?
Villalagoon tiles recommends using wax (liquid wax after applying the impregnator sealer). Has somebody used wax on their floors ? Is it easy then to seal once every few months if wax has been added to the floor ? It's in a bathroom.
